BILLY DEAN ON STAGE IN ITALY

Country music star and Grammy Award winner Billy Dean flies to Europe for an exclusive show at the Cowboys Guest Ranch In Voghera, Italy.

Billy Dean was raised in Quincy, FL, the son of William Harold "Billy" Dean. His dad, a very talented singer, played in a band at the American Legion Hall so Harold grew up with the role model of a man who could have made it in music but chose to put his family first.

The example his father set stuck with him so much that, when at 20 he moved to Nashville to try his luck in music, he changed his name from Harold; to "Billy" in honor of his late father. With the new name and identity came hit song after hit song. Many of his albums reached the top 20 of the Country Charts.

And with the hit songs came the awards: Songwriter of the Year, New Male Vocalist of the Year, Country Song Awards for "Billy The Kid" and "Somewhere In My Broken Heart", Million Airplay Awards for "Somewhere In My Broken Heart", Rising Star Award, Songwriter Award for "Billy The Kid", and to crown it all, a Grammy Award for A Country Tribute Amazing Grace.

However, Billy felt like he was also losing touch with young Harold who terrorized the neighborhood on his bike and idolized his father, the talented singer and family man. So, Billy Dean began to redefine his role in the music industry. Touring was drawing him away from his kids so he began to move away from performing, a decision that led him to help aspiring musicians produce CDs and find their own musical careers.

Billy Dean has also helped companies, such as Averitt Express, Qualcomm and SunKist, develop their brand through music. This may have kept him away from the stage, but not from the studio where in 2004 he produced the highly successful "Let Them Be Little" album, which ranked in the top 10 of the Top Country Album chart.

A new CD is in the works and may be ready for Independence Day 2009 at Cowboys Guest Ranch in Voghera, where Billy Dean will be featured as headliner on July 4, 2009
